In this video, our Director Brendan Donnelly criticises the main British political parties for their reluctance to talk about Brexit. He thinks this reluctance stems primarily from calculations of political advantage. These calculations may however be mistaken. The Labour Party in particular may end up alienating all its potential supporters. It is not a foregone conclusion that the Conservative Party will win the next General Election. Other parties should prepare themselves for government in 2023 or 2024 by engaging now in realistic debates about the UK’s future relationship with the EU.
