Professor Hrbek discussed the development of the federal system in Germany, the effects of unification on the federal system and recent efforts to modernise German federalism. He also gave an insight into the German view of the European Union and its possible federal development.
Mr Johannes Leithäuser of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung provider further comment before a general question and answer session. Finally the Minister at the German Embassy, Dr Eckhard Lübkemeier, kindly invited us to a reception afterwards.
