The Federal Trust will appoint a new Chair of Trustees in 2020

The Federal Trust, an independent research institute with charitable status based in London, is seeking a new Chair of Trustees. The post is non-remunerated. The Chair will convene and provide strategic guidance to the Trust’s governing Council and work with the Trust’s Director to supervise the activities of a small staff and the work of the Trust’s external consultants. This can normally be achieved through a commitment of one or two working days per month.  

The Trust is interested in federal structures at the sub-national, national and supranational level, with its principal activities being regular conferences and publications on these subjects. More details can be found about its work and values at The Council of the Trust would expect that any candidate for Chair would be broadly sympathetic to the Trust’s fundamental values of international co-operation and supranational institutions. The role might be of interest to applicants with administrative and supervisory experience in politics, the civil service, industry, academia or similar environments. Experience of fund-raising would be an advantage.
