The Federal Trust will appoint a new Chair of Trustees in 2020
The Federal Trust, an independent research institute with charitable status based in London, is seeking a new Chair of Trustees. The post is non-remunerated. The Chair will convene and provide strategic guidance to the Trust’s governing Council and work with the Trust’s Director to supervise the activities of a small staff and the work of the Trust’s external consultants. This can normally be achieved through a commitment of one or two working days per month.
The Trust is interested in federal structures at the sub-national, national and supranational level, with its principal activities being regular conferences and publications on these subjects. More details can be found about its work and values at https://fedtrust.co.uk/ The Council of the Trust would expect that any candidate for Chair would be broadly sympathetic to the Trust’s fundamental values of international co-operation and supranational institutions. The role might be of interest to applicants with administrative and supervisory experience in politics, the civil service, industry, academia or similar environments. Experience of fund-raising would be an advantage.
